Bali Dreamland, Entertainment destination and world famous surf beach.

Dreamland is one of Bali’s most famous locations with pristine white sands and challenging surf beaches. Popular and frequented by both the local expatriate community and tourists this is a magical place.
Originally development began in 1996. An area of over 450 hectares of magical views. With wide roads, and the plumbing and electrical already installed the development was halted for a number of years due to the economic and political crisis of the late 90’s in Indonesia. Now in 2008 development is nearing completion. Expected opening is aimed at European high season during August or September of this year.
I visited the site and found construction of the modern cliff edge building well under way. This is the destination location for Bali’s most ambitious leisure spot. Currently named ‘Klapa’ the aim of the management team is for this venue at Dreamland to be the largest and most comprehensive leisure destination in Bali.
The construction site is a very well thought out architectural masterpiece. It uses the space where we used to park to walk down to the beach and has created an incredible cliff side recreation facility. Plans include eight different leisure facilities and three specialty shops. With construction already 70 percent this site will be ready for the grand opening in September.
The facilities include 6000 m2 of leisure activities. Included are three clubs for dancing the night away including private karaoke rooms available for hire. There is a planned beach club as well as two restaurants, including a Japanese sushi bar and modern mediterranean fusion restaurant and a poolside lounge. This could be quite a treat. Their spa facilities include luxurious private balconies for each treatment room with a bathtub and the most fabulous views on the island, for fitness and sports enthusiasts their gym promises a membership and facilities to rival those already available in Bali.
Being only 15 minutes from the airport, the Area of Pecatu ‘Bukit’ is one where we see world class resorts popping up every year. Cliff Side resorts, private villa developments and Branded Hotel Villa’s such as the Bvlgari have all made their home in ‘Bukit’. When you include the tourism areas of Nusa Dua and Benoa with their five star hotel clients you have a very large amount of tourists with very few leisure facilities nearby. Traditionally these guests end up in the trendier areas of Seminyak and Oberoi for great restaurants and ‘high end modern lifestyle’ entertainment.
